Well, we hoped it wouldn’t come down to this…BUT…we’ve had to put the baby to work so that she could contribute to the family finances. Baby needs a new pair of shoes. Hahahaha!
All kidding aside, we’re doing is good. Zoe is now 6 months old and has a new mode of transportation… rolling. Gosh, it won’t be long and she’ll be walking. Cadie is really enjoying her little sister and can be quite the big helper. I can already see the love that these two have for each other. They are just precious!
*** Yes, it has been a while since I’ve posted and I fully blame it on facebook. It’s just so easy to upload and share all my photos and videos there so I have not been blogging. I know that most people who view this blog have a facebook account, but if you don’t… get one and find me! I can’t guarantee that I will post again anytime soon. :-) ***
Cadie can’t wait for Zoe to get a little bigger so they can play together more. Last night they enjoyed their first tea party together. Cadie just loves her little sister. I can’t wait to see them interact as Zoe grows older. I love them both soo much!
Zoe is cuter every day. She’s 2 months old now and she’s been smiling alot lately. When she greets you with a smile at 3am it suddenly doesn’t matter what time it is. She is just precious! We are very close to sleeping through the night. She’s been sleeping good 7-8 hour stretches at night, problem is that she goes to bed early so we’re usually up around 3:30-4am. Guy and I have been sharing the night duties, so one gets up with the baby during the night and the other gets up with Cadie in the morning, then the next day it’s the others turn. It’s all about teamwork and it’s working well I think :-)
Cadie’s enjoying her sister a little more these days I think. It’s a little more fun when the person you are trying to play with actually gives you a reaction. I got a great deal on a Baby Einstein floor mat thing where the toys hang over the baby. Zoe really likes it, and I think Cadie had just as much fun playing with it too. Fun times ahead!
Calling Dr. Roberts to trick or treat…. STAT!
Cadie wanted to be a doctor like Mrs. Stephanie for halloween. We walked around the block with her cousins and got WAY too much candy. At least I can blame the extra weight on the new baby. :-)
Last night I was treated to a girls night out with the ladies from our village (community group). We headed up to our church, Journey Ecclesia, to attend an art class with April James. I am not very creative. I do not draw well. I can’t paint……… or can I? I actually painted the cityscape below…
Not bad for my first piece of art. When Cadie saw the picture she said “I couldn’t believe my eyes!” How CUTE!! I really enjoyed the class and it was great to get out of the house and spend some time with the girls. I will definitely go again and will probably bring Guy with me for a fun date night. He is very creative so I can’t wait to see what his painting looks like.
I can’t believe it’s been almost 3 weeks since my last post. Sorry! Here’s an update…
Zoe’s diaper rash is gone. We finally got some stuff from the pediatrician that was thick enough to allow it to heal. The fussiness is getting better too. We made the switch to formula and are using colic reducing bottles which seems to be helping. She’s sleeping pretty good, giving us some good 4-5 hour stretches of sleep at night. She’s also given us some really great gummy smiles. I can’t wait to catch some of those with the camera. Until then, here’s a recent picture to enjoy…
We recently made a trip to Virginia to see the in-laws. We celebrated Cadie’s 7th birthday while we were there. I can’t believe she’s 7 already. Where has the time gone?
I haven’t posted in a while so I thought I’d take a minute to give an update on how we’re doing. Zoe’s beautiful, the most precious little thing… when she’s sleeping! ;-) She’s quite the fussy little girl but we’re hoping that it’s only because her poor little hiney is tore up. She’s got a terrible diaper rash that just won’t go away. Today we got a prescription cream called “Happy Hiney” so we hope to have one very soon. She’s also VERY gassy and poops ALL the time which doesn’t really help with the whole hiney situation. We feel so bad for her and it pains us that we’re doing everything we can to remedy the situation and it’s just not working. So, please say a prayer for Zoe’s hiney to heal so we can ALL be happy. :-)
Zoe still has her days and nights mixed up. We’re trying to keep her awake more during the day, not an easy task for a three week old. Last night I got nearly 4 consecutive hours of sleep which was nice! My days are filled with… feeding, pumping, changing diapers, washing bottles, cleaning, repeat! Some days I don’t even get out of my pajamas, and I don’t mind a bit.
I leave you with a picture of our beautiful girls. We love them so much!
